The years from birth through three years old represent the most critical time in a child’s development. Researchers have shown that if we can influence a child’s life in the first few years, then we can affect the adult that child will become.

As a parent or caregiver of a baby or toddler, you may be looking for answers regarding your child’s development. UF Department of Pediatrics North Central Early Steps (UF NCES) program is here to help.

UF NCES provides supports to families with children from birth to three years old with delays in their development. Infants and toddlers learn from experiences and the people around them in their daily routines. We come to you and your child – providing support in the places where your child normally lives and plays, such as your home, childcare center, or other community settings. Our focus is to support your family in your daily lives.

Developmental services, service coordination, and supportive intervention are just some of the services your family may receive. Our staff and community providers are highly trained professionals who are required to keep up with all of the latest research in order to provide the highest quality supports and services.

Please let us know how we can help you and your child.
